“Breaking Up with Daddy”, 2024, Nonnekloster, Bergen is a performance by artists Sasha Salin and Lise Bøgh that undertakes a radical reimagining of one of the oldest narratives in Western culture: the Bible. The work asks what unfolds when Eve is finally given authority over her own story. What if the bite of the apple was not an act of disobedience, but a deliberate gesture toward liberation. A conscious step away from Adam’s dominance? And what if God’s relationship with Lucifer is far more entangled, even tender, than tradition allows?

Through embodied storytelling, mythological subversion, and a distinctly feminist lens, Salin and Bøgh challenge the foundations of patriarchal myth-making. “Breaking Up with Daddy” destabilizes inherited narratives and creates space for new cosmologies in which desire, autonomy, and rebellion are reconfigured as acts of creative power.
