Installation with video documentation of performances, face masks, and artificial nails

Performances is a collaborative work by Lise Bøgh and Selma Elving, carried out on the online platform Thundr.com, a site branded for anonymous encounters with strangers. In practice, the platform is largely dominated by men performing sexualized acts and seeking women’s visual participation.

By entering this space, the artists expose how women are sexualized simply by being present. Throughout the performance, Elving and Bøgh apply face masks and artificial nails to one another. These gestures of mutual care form a quiet but insistent resistance within a hostile digital environment.

Performances frames sisterhood as a protective and sustaining force, transforming vulnerability into collective strength and reclaiming agency in a space structured by objectification.
