WINDOW NOTES, 2025

part of group exhibition: Why aren’t you ashamed?, Visningsrummet, Bergen

Applied directly onto one of the exhibition’s windows, the work combines handwritten excerpts from the artist’s personal diary with a collage of pop-cultural memes addressing the lived experience of being a young woman today. Visible from both inside and outside the space, the installation turns the transparent surface into a site where private vulnerability meets public gaze.

By placing intimate text alongside mass-circulated digital imagery, the piece exposes the tension between personal identity and the cultural scripts imposed on young women. The work reframes the exhibition’s provocation—Why aren’t you ashamed?—as a critique of the structures that produce shame, reclaiming self-expression through both confession and irony.
